Islamabad: The China-based Shandong Xinxu Group Corporation has planned to build an industrial park in Pakistan to enhance the manufacturing sector, news sources reported on March 17.

In a meeting with Commerce Minister Syed Naveed Qamar, the company chairman Hou Jianxin said that the group would invest in the technology transfer from China to Pakistan in the upcoming months. He said that the industry will be established under the government-to-government (G2G) agreement between the Shandong province of China and the government of Pakistan. He also said that the project will improve Pakistan’s export sector besides enhancing job opportunities for the locals.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan and China have entered the second phase of the China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor (CPEC) project. The second phase is concerned with the development of the industrial base and agriculture sector in the country. For this purpose, China will facilitate technology and equipment transfer to Pakistan.
