Lahore: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the State Bank of Pakistan will jointly hold a Small Medium Enterprise Mela on March 24 in Lahore, news sources reported. The event will be held on LCCI premises from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Reportedly, the event is intended to attract investment and highlight the potential of Pakistan’s SME sector. The SBP, commercial banks and representatives from around 26 financial institutions will attend the event. Banks will sell and demonstrate their products, the availability of financing and terms, and conditions for the SME sector. Furthermore, the SMEs will demonstrate and display their products to potential consumers and market representatives.
In addition, SBP Governor Raza Baqir and stakeholders and experts from the central bank, commercial banks, and trade organisations have been invited to attend. They will discuss the roles and functions of various stakeholders, the scope and best practices in SME finance, significant concerns, obstacles, and the way forward.

It is worth noting that the SBP recently organised a home financing mela in Faisalabad, at which numerous banks were present. According to the SBP governor, a total of PKR 7.5 billion in loans were sanctioned on the spot for first-time house buyers.
