Karachi: Malir Development Authority (MDA) Additional Director General (ADG) Abdul Nasir has revealed that infrastructure development in New Malir Housing Scheme has been completed by 90%, according to a news story published in national dailies on December 24.
Nasir shared this information during a media brief held in his office on Wednesday (December 23). He further revealed that the authority has also retrieved 1,200 acres of land from the land mafia during the last two months. The order in this regard came directly from Sindh Information and Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.

Speaking to media, MDA ADG further revealed that the total land in possession of land mafia, prior to the recent operation, was 5,000 acres and the value of this land amounts to billions of rupees. In order to retrieve the remaining land, a mega operation is underway in collaboration with law enforcement agencies. He reiterated that the operation will continue till the entire land is vacated.
Speaking about the much-anticipated launch of a new (and perhaps an affordable) housing scheme, he said that people will hear a good news soon. This news could very well be about the MDA’s much popular project Taiser Town, but the ADG didn’t give any hints on what’s coming next.
