Karachi: Sindh Minister for Industries and Commerce Jam Ikram Ullah Dharejo has revealed that the Larkana Industrial Zone will be inaugurated in January 2020, according to news sources. He referred to the project as a ‘gift from the Sindh government to the province’s people’.

The minister made the announcement while presiding over a meeting of Industries and Commerce Department on Monday (December 23). The meeting was attended by notable officials from the department as well as Industry and Trade Secretary Naseem-ul-Ghani.

According to reports, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto will perform the project inauguration. The final inauguration date has not been announced as of yet, but Dharejo stated that the development work on the project had been completed by 90%.

He stated that the Larkana Industrial Zone would become the business and industrial hub for the city and many other districts around Larkana. The meeting members were also informed that the provincial government would soon initiate the PKR 3.65 billion combined effluent treatment plant to curb pollution levels in the industrial areas of Karachi.
