As per details, this announcement was made during the agreement signing ceremony between the SITE, Government of Sindh, and the Government of Pakistan. Minister Dharejo highlighted that the establishment of the economic zone will create extensive opportunities for local agro-based industrialists, fostering growth and innovation in the region. The SITA Association has recognised the Larkana Industrial Zone as a special economic zone following the successful completion of its infrastructure and development projects.
With the SEZ status conferred, the Larkana Industrial Zone has now been fully transferred to the Sindh Economic Zones Authority (SEZA). The project, which commenced in 2017, reached completion in 2021 at an investment exceeding Rs. 1.366 billion. It encompasses 94 one-acre industrial plots within a sprawling 500-acre area, along with commercial plots measuring 1,000 yards.
