Islamabad: The landscaping work on a wide green belt along the IJP Road has commenced with the purpose to beautify and maintain green spaces in the federal city, according to news published on January 17.

As per the details, the contractor is using heavy machinery for landscaping work and is expected to complete it by the end of this month. An official of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) (whose name was not disclosed) stated that the plan is to complete IJP Road by March 23, so work on the green belt must be completed before it.
Under the plan, thousands of saplings will be planted in the green belt, starting from Pirwadhai Morr to the Faizabad area. It was mentioned that the CDA claimed the layout plan for IJP Road was designed to help protect green cover during the construction.

It is pertinent to note that the beautification and development work of green belts across the city has started. A total of PKR 21 million is being spent on landscaping, allied, works, natural stone walls, and other materials for the beautification of green belts and protection from encroachments.
