Faisalabad: The Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab and Faisalabad Development Authority conducted an operation in the city to retrieve government land worth PKR 440 million, a news source reported. The operation was ordered by Anti-Corruption Director Mehr Shafqatullah Mushtaq and was supervised by Deputy Director Shehram Muzaffar.
The action was taken on Samundri Road against four housing schemes illegally possessing government land. The records had revealed that four housing schemes had illegally taken possession of the government land and included it in their housing projects. So taking action, the two agencies demolished the illegal structures and repossessed the land. Signboards warning that it is not a public thoroughfare have also been installed on the land.
Operations have been taking place against the land mafia throughout Punjab on the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, who ordered a large-scale, province-wide operation against illegal encroachments and land-grabbing when he took over the government.
