Lahore: A joint team of the Lahore Ring Road Authority (LRRA) and the district administration retrieved a chunk of land from Bahria Town so that construction work on the Southern Loop-3 (SL-3) of the Lahore Ring Road could begin, according to a news report. The action was led by Lahore Commissioner/LRRA Chairperson Dr Mujtaba Paracha and the Deputy Commissioner retired Capt Anwar ul Haq who oversaw the demolition of houses, plazas and other constructions to clear way for SL-3.
Work on the SL-3 had been stalled since July 2016 after the court was petitioned on the matter and a stay obtained. After the matter had been settled, a majority of house owners left the area last year after Bahria Town paid them compensation.
