The mayor revealed that the Financial Management Software was under development for the land record computerisation – for which the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation was bearing all expenses. He added that all land records would undergo computerisation following the development of the software, which would make it impossible to alter bills of pension, salary, and gratuity.
Akhtar said that the software would also allow its users to view details of any property with only a click. He added that this development would end alteration to documents of markets and tenants’ names. He highlighted that if anyone were found altering such documents, they would have to face legal action.
