While inspecting the ongoing development activities, the LDA DG stated that out of the required 13,000 kanals, the land owners had provided 11,000 kanals for the said project. Following the land acquisition process, the LDA would allot developed plots to the file holders in the housing scheme, he added.
Muazam stated that LDA was carrying out development work in an area spanning over 6,200 kanals. He added that contractors were working in two shifts in order to meet the deadline set by the Supreme Court (SC) for the allotment of plots. LDA has already provided PKR 3 billion for development of the LDA City projects, he said.
The DG revealed that they had divided the housing scheme in seven packages in order to speed up the development process. He added that work was underway on package-5; including the construction of roads, water tank, water sewerage, and water supply, and had begun on packages 2 and 3.

Earlier this year, the SC had ordered the civic agency to form a committee to ensure allotment of land, or issue payments as compensations to the LDA City file holders.
