As per the details, the second phase of the project is being developed at the request of the Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GtCCI) and upon the suggestion of Federal Minister for Water Resources Chaudhry Moonis Elahi. In the following two years, the industrial estate will be developed and will feature industrial plots of 1 to 10-marla and 2, 4 kanals. The government, however, has not yet set the prices for the plots. The project was first planned in 1992 at a different site, but it was never realised owing to litigation and land acquisition issues. However, in response to GtCCI’s request, the government has revised its position on the project.
