Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Mr Maroof Afzal has assured a National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee that the land for Sector E-12 would be acquired in a period of three months.
According to a news source, the CDA had announced Sector E-12 in 1985, but it had not been able to take possession of the land since
then. Moreover, the civic agency told the residents of the sector that they would be compensated through plots in Sector I-12 against their land in Sector E-12. Reportedly, the deal could not materialise, and many people refused to vacate their land.
During a meeting with the NA committee, the CDA chairman admitted that there had been no progress on the sector’s development for almost three decades. However, he assured the committee that the land would be
acquired within three months.
