Islamabad: To set an oil refinery in District Karak, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has acquired 600 kanals of land, reported a news source. For the construction of this oil refinery, the provincial government has signed an MoU with the Frontier Works Organisation.
The project is estimated to cost PKR 64 billion, and will be completed in four years.
The spokesperson of the provincial government said that to set up another oil refinery in the region, an MoU has been signed with a Russian company. The construction of this refinery is expected to cost USD 35 billion. Both refineries will clean 60,000 barrels of oil on a daily basis.
