Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Commissioner’s Office has directed the Punjab Revenue Department to identify the land for the development of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project, a news source reported. For this purpose, the Commissioner’s Office has issued a deadline of January 30, 2020.

It has further instructed the department to commence with the land acquisition process following its identification. In response, the Revenue Department has, reportedly, started to identify areas and rural settlements that pass through the route identified for the RRR project. The identification process is being carried out under the supervision of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue).

Following the completion of the land demarcation process, the provincial executive will commence with its land acquisition efforts. To facilitate this measure, the government may impose Section 4 in the area and purchase the land from landowners by paying them the amount at market rate against their land value.

As per reports, the land purchase is expected to finalise in February, while the payment process to the land owners is expected to commence in the second week of February.
