Quetta: Chief Minister of Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan recently decided to allot 20 acres of land in District Kharan for the development of a housing project to accommodate members of the minority Hindu community residing in the city, according to news sources.
The Advisor to the Chief Minister on Minorities Affairs Denesh Kumar and Commander Frontier Corps (Kharan) Col Umar Farooq conveyed this information to the Hindu Panchayat in a meeting on Saturday.

The source reported that the government has fulfilled its promise by setting up the Minorities Affairs Department in Balochistan, and is determined to resolve any issues faced by the minorities on a priority basis. The Panchayat informed the advisor about their various problems and urged the implementation of a 5% job quota for minorities in government jobs.
The Advisor assured the Panchayat of the government’s intention to ensure the availability of facilities for the minorities. He said that the government was well aware of the important role played by the minorities in the development of Pakistan and Balochistan.

The CM’s Advisor also revealed that the government had allocated a sum of PKR 1 billion for the development and progress of the minority communities residing in the province.
