Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Housing Dr Amjad Ali recently announced that the Estate and Board of Revenue (BoR) had sanctioned the possession of 300-kanals of land for the establishment of a Women’s University campus, along with the development of additional educational institutes, in Swat, according to a news source published on September 3.

The said land will also be utilised for the establishment of sub-campuses of the Agriculture University, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), and the Elementary and Secondary Education (E&SE) Scouts in Barikot.
The housing minister thanked the KP Chief Minister and the provincial government for approving the development of the aforementioned educational institutes in Barikot – Swat. He further stated that these institutes would help promote quality education in the region and that the provincial government was focused on improving the district’s educational infrastructure.

As per the details available, the BoR has approved 200 kanals of land for the development of the Women’s University campus, 42 kanals for the Agriculture University sub-campus, 42 kanals for the UET sub-campus, and 16 kanals for the E&SE Scouts.
Moreover, Dr Amjad Ali said that PKR 1 billion had already been approved for the construction of the Women’s University campus in Barikot, and that the development work on the campus would be initiated soon.
