Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has ordered to initiate the land acquisition process for the Peshawar-DI Khan Motorway, allocating an initial Rs2 billion for the flagship project.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, while chairing a meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Thursday, emphasized the project’s importance in boosting economic activity, enhancing transport infrastructure, and creating job opportunities.

The proposed 365-kilometer-long Peshawar-DI Khan motorway will feature six lanes, 19 interchanges, and two tunnels, connecting seven districts across the province. With an estimated cost of Rs348 billion, the project aims to revolutionize connectivity and drive regional development.
The meeting decided to commence land acquisition simultaneously from both Peshawar and Dera Ismail Khan. Relevant departments have been directed to ensure the process is carried out efficiently.

Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance Muzammil Aslam, Additional Chief Secretary for Planning Ikramullah Khan, and senior officials from the finance, planning, and communications departments attended the meeting.
