Islamabad: The land acquisition for Diamer Bhasha Dam is 80% complete, a news source reported. In total, 32,139 acres of land has been acquired. 31,977 acres have been obtained from Gilgit Baltistan and 162 acres have been obtained from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The land acquired includes 14,710 acres of private land, while the remaining 17,429 acres are government land.
In all, 37,419 acres are required for the dam, out of which 35,991 acres will be obtained from Gilgit Baltistan, while 1,428 acres will be acquired from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 18,357 acres of land will be private and the remaining 19,062 acres will be government land.
Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has invited proposals for construction design service, construction supervision, and the administration of Diamer Bhasha Dam. The interested firms can submit their proposals prepared according to instructions given in Request For Proposals (RFP) Document latest by 11:00 AM on November 27, 2018.
