Gujrat: A total of 4,600 acres of land will be acquired for the construction of the Sambrial-Kharian Motorway in Sialkot and Gujrat districts, according to news published on Sunday (November 21).

As per the details, Gujrat Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Amir Basheer Kang disclosed that 3,450 acres will be acquired in Kharian and Gujrat tehsils and the remaining land will be acquired in Sambrial tehsil of Sialkot. He went on to say that National Highways Authority (NHA) demanded to acquire double land in case expansion of dual carriageway was required in the future.
Moreover, Gujrat Assistant Commissioner Faisal Abbas Mangat mentioned that the field staff of the land revenue department were directed to start the survey of buildings and trees at the proposed route to determine the total cost of land acquisition.

Reportedly, the 69-kilometre long Sambrial-Kharian Motorway is an extension of the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (M-11). It was mentioned that five interchanges and a junction near the rest area will be constructed.
