Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has approved the plan of architectural up-gradation of Lal Shehbaz Qalandar Underpass, news sources reported. The upgradation would cost PKR 20 million. The authority has already taken approval for the budget and design enhancements from Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Usman Buzdar.

According to the reports, the proposed plan includes the construction of pillars, resigning and beautification of the entryway. Similarly, new lamps and lights will be installed in addition to the placement of benches. In addition to this, green belts on both sides of the road will be developed.

Lal Shehbaz Qalandar Underpass was inaugurated on November 27, 2020, by CM Shehbaz, and was constructed with a budget of PKR 130 million. The project is regarded as critical in managing traffic flow between Gulberg and Walton. The project’s completion has benefitted an estimated 100,000 individuals on a daily basis.
