Lahore: Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has announced that rain water drainage pumps will be installed along Lal Shahbaz Qalandar Underpass during this week in Lahore, according to news sources.
This underpass is centrally located and connects Cantonment’s Cavalry Ground area with Gulberg, and Model Town. It was launched in November 2020, however, until now no plan for the drainage system was put in place. Once the rainwater drainage pumps have been installed, the road infrastructure will become fully functional.
WASA has also announced that as Lahore is experiencing occasional rains during the month of April, it has set up a temporary drainage system at the underpass so rain water does not inundate the underpass and adversely affect the flow of traffic.
