Lahore: While speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Vice-Chairman S M Imran has announced that new industrial areas are being added in Lahore’s Master Plan to cater to the future needs of the industrial sector, according to news sources.

Reportedly, Mr Imran added that the new master plan will be finalized in a year. Vice Chairman Imran also said that any decision for the industrial units along River Ravifront will be resolved with stakeholders as the business community will be facilitated in the plan. Moreover, he said that Lahore’s water tariff issue will also be resolved soon. He also said that issue of Holiday Park Industrial Estate will also be resolved soon.

Present at the occasion was LCCI President Mian Tariq Misbah who said that the business community appreciates Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision regarding Ravi Riverfront Development Project as it will enhance the growth rate of housing, construction and many allied sectors. He also highlighted that there is scarcity of land in Lahore for the development of Industrial Estate as the two Sundar and Quaid-e-Azam have reached full capacity. This he said was also contributing towards by high rate of conversion fee for land use charged by LDA (20 per cent of the value according to DC rate).
Mian Tariq Misbah also informed that Sheikhupura, Kasur, Nankana have now been removed from the jurisdiction of the LDA.
