Lahore: The Gulberg Main Market roundabout is soon expected to be reinforced with a public ‘TV lounge’ facility; featuring four 110-inch screens, a sound system, and seating arrangement for over 70 people, according to a new source. To this effect, the project’s working paper has been handed over to Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) Chief Officer Syed Ali Abbas.

Punjab Chief Secretary Azam (SC) Salman has tasked the Lahore Commissioner with completing the project. As per the initial estimates, the ‘TV lounge’ attraction will cost PKR 16 million. In addition to featuring huge TV screens and a sound system, the lounge will also contain a dedicated parking area and restrooms.

It will showcase live coverage of sports events as well as national ceremonies. Moreover, the corporation will also use the facility to host awareness campaigns on various projects and issues such as the ‘Clean and Green Initiative’, dengue and polio.
