Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to make the master plan up to 2050 instead of the previous idea of Master Plan 2040, under which only 20 years of planning was to be done – a news source reported.
According to details, the decision has been taken in order to more effectively meet the residential, business, and industrial needs of the city over the next 30 years. Now that the approval has been obtained, PRK 750 million have been allocated for the preparation of the master plan and the appointment of a consultant. TORs have also been prepared for the purpose.

Bids will be invited for consultancy services in two phases. The master plan will include plans for transport, power supply, infrastructure development, road networks, and industrial development.

The terms and conditions for the appointment of consultants have also been drafted, under which the consultant will be hired. Only such a company will be hired which has previously created a master plan for a city or area with a population greater than 10 million.
