Lahore: A Start-up company ‘Screen It’ has signed an agreement with a German firm, under which taxis operating in Lahore will display digital advertisements, a news source reported. This agreement falls under Pakistan Information Technology Board (PITB)’s Plan Nine project.

According to the agreement, the German firm will provide Screen It with funding worth USD 2.5 million. The latter will use these funds to begin the project of running digital advertisements on the rear windscreens of taxis running in the city.

This project will help businesses to digitally market their brands utilising fewer resources like time and money. Furthermore, the project will also help taxi drivers increase their income by approximately PKR 20,000.

During the signing ceremony, PITB Chairman Azfar Manzoor said that it was an extraordinary achievement for Screen It to receive this funding under the Plan Nine initiative. He added that this collaboration would help with setting up smart systems in cars to display interactive advertisements.
