As per the details, the government has also approved the revised layout plan of the Finance & Trade Centre (FTC), Johar Town. A committee was formed by the government, which will be headed by LDA Vice Chairman (VC) Naeem-ul-Haq in order to deal with matters regarding generating maximum revenue, determine the quantum and imposition of betterment fee, and resizing of plots according to market demand.
Reportedly, FTC was the only area in the city that was allowed to have unlimited height high-rise buildings to boost commercial activities on the condition that No Objection Certificate (NOC) was obtained from Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and other concerned departments.
Unfortunately, the authority failed to amend its building regulations, which allowed other authorities like Central Business District Authority (CBDA) to offer business-friendly regulations and allow construction of high-rise buildings in Gulberg. It enabled the CBDA to auction its plots at a higher price than FTC.

To bridge the gap in the prices, the LDA has amended the regulations and revised the FTC layout plan. According to an official, the approved revised layout and building regulations will generate huge revenue for the government and will boost economic and business activities in the city.
