Lahore: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) will plant 100,000 trees along Lahore Ring Road in a bid to transform the area into a green corridor, a news source reported. A third-party audit will also be carried out of the project.

A meeting to this effect took place at the authority’s Head Office in Jilani Park on Monday, which was presided over by Adviser to the Prime Minister for Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam.
Parliamentary Secretary Climate Change Rukhsana Naveed, PHA Chairman Yasir Gillani, PHA Vice-Chairman Hafiz Zeeshan Rasheed, and PHA Director-General Dr Faisal Zahoor were all present at the occasion.

This tree plantation scheme will be launched on 2nd March. It will be completed on a public-private partnership basis. In a similar measure, the government will develop green areas on state land retrieved so far.
