Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has approved the construction of the 8-km long Southern Loop III of the Lahore Ring Road project, a news source reported. This section of the project spans from Adda Plot to Multan Road, and is expected to incur a cost of around PKR 10 billion. The authorities concerned have procured these funds on a public-private partnership basis.

CM Buzdar gave the approval during the inauguration of the Lahore Ring Road Authority (LRRA) Complex. He directed the officials concerned to complete the project within one year’s time. He further informed that one million trees would be planted around the Ring Road network.

On the occasion, Commissioner Lahore Division and Chairperson LRRA, Mujtaba Paracha briefed the CM regarding the completion of the Southern Loops I & II. He said that both road sections collectively span up to 23-km in length, and were completed within a timeframe of one year. He added that the control room of the LRRA would be linked with the Safe City project.
