Lahore: The Lahore Police recently conducted the trial of electronic traffic challan payment gateway at the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Office, a news source reported. Lahore CCPO Zulfiqar Hameed, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain Syed Hammad Abid, and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Director General were all present on the occasion.

Lahore CTO Syed Hammad Abid delivered a briefing before the attendees on the ‘Electronic Traffic Challan e-Payment System’ and informed about its protocols. CCPO Zulfiqar Hameed also spoke on the occasion and said that the electronic challan e-payment was considered for implementation to maintain social distancing during the COVID-19 outbreak.

It was informed that after the implementation of the e-payment challan system, citizens would no longer have to line up in queues at bank branches. Additionally, the citizens will be able to pay via ATM, online banking, and mobile phone to withdraw their documents from traffic police officers. Initially, the electronic system will be introduced in three traffic sectors and later, extended to the entire Lahore city.
