Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Vice Chairman (VC) SM Imran announced that all the decisions of the new Master Plan of Lahore will be finalized after consultation with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), according to news sources.

A stakeholder meeting of LCCI was held where it was decided to consult stakeholders of the project before making any decisions. VC Imran disclosed that the new Master Plan of Lahore was being developed for the coming generations. He went on to say that special attention was given to the environment as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Moreover, the LCCI President Mian Tariq Misbah stated that Lahore lacks land for industrial investment and expansion. Currently, Lahore has just two industrial estates – Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate and Sundar Industrial Estate and they are operating at full capacity. The VC mentioned that it is the reason for the high cost of industrial land in the city.

The new Master Plan is being designed as per the needs of the industrial estate. The LCCI president informed that the LDA was in favour of rezoning Lahore and expanding the industrial sector. He added that because of the lack of industrial zoning, the industry was overburdened by the high rate of conversion fees.
