Lahore – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has granted approval to Punjab Government for the acquisition of 2 kanal and 11 marla of Lady Willingdon Hospital’s land for the construction of Azadi Chowk Flyover.
The court also said that the Provincial Government has proposed to provide alternative arrangements to the hospital within 45 days and an estimated cost of Rs. 8,811,345 will be spent to provide substitute to the existing facilities that will be razed by the government. The court added that the hospital’s building was not protected under Antiquities (Amendment) Act, 2012 or Punjab Special Premises (Preservation) Ordinance, 1985.
