Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC)’s Justice Manzoor Malik suspended the punishment of 88-years imprisonment given to a patwari against different cases of corruption.
Plaintiff’s counsel challenged his client’s sentence in an anti-corruption court, stating that a son of the former chief minister involved his client in 11 different cases in 1992. He submitted that the court sentenced his client to an imprisonment of 88 years on the basis of a single inquiry.
He appealed the court to grant bail to the patwari until the final disposal of appeals, which the court did.
