According to the source, Dr Munawar is planning experimental testing of the project in the hilly district of Khanspur. The artificial rain project will begin with a one square kilometre region. Following the success of the trial, the experiment will be repeated in the provincial capital following November 19, when three days of clouds are expected.

Dr Munawar told the media that he is performing the initial experiment with his own funds, but that the government would finance the initiative for Lahore. It is pertinent to mention here that artificial rain or cloud seeding is a well-known procedure that involves the utilisation of natural clouds and high humidity that is sprayed with salt solutions. The salts promote the condensation of water.
