Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar said that the government has decided to divide Lahore into 32 administrator regions in a bid to better address the persisting management issues, news sources reported. The decision was announced during his concluding budget speech for the fiscal year (FY 2021-22) in the provincial legislature.

A final decision will be taken soon in this regard. Moreover, the CM also announced various development projects for the province including a package for South Punjab. Some of the details of the speech are as follows: • The South Punjab Secretariat will be established soon in Multan, and one in Bahawalpur • A 32 % quota is suggested in government jobs for South Punjab, while the decision to include Bhakkar and Minawali in the quota, which would raise the overall share to 35%, is under consideration.
