Lahore: In a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday (September 9), the National Coordination Committee (NCC) for Housing, Construction, and Development stated that a digital map of Lahore will be finished by October 15, news sources reported.

Prime Minister Imran Khan instructed the committee to speed up work on the digitalization of the Lahore cadastral mapping so that it may be completed as soon as possible. The premier stated that digitising land will prevent land grabbers and encroachment on land while also providing assistance to the general public. In the first phase of the initiative, the federal government launched a project of digital mapping of the country’s major metropolises, and a ceremonial event of the launch of Islamabad Castradal was held on Wednesday (September 08).

He said that project’s goal is to digitise all significant city residential and state land. The premier stated during the opening ceremony that the project will increase inland revenue production from the property. Similarly, the premier was updated on the numerous housing projects currently being completed by the Ministry of Housing and Works. According to reports, the ministry is building 86,323 housing units at a cost of PKR 463 billion.
