Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has emphasized the swift completion of the Lahore Development Plan, according to news sources. She specifically instructed for the prompt execution of construction and refurbishment works across Lahore’s streets and markets, alongside the installation of street lighting and the timely conclusion of drainage projects, all to be accomplished within a three-month timeframe.
Chairing a special session dedicated to assessing the progress of the Lahore Development Plan, CM Maryam oversaw a detailed presentation covering various aspects including the renovation of streets, roads, sanitation facilities, and other pertinent matters. Furthermore, it was agreed upon to implement a monitoring mechanism for the Lahore Development Plan utilizing the Geographical Information System.

The involvement of NesPak and environmental experts was also solicited to provide valuable insights and support for the Lahore Development Plan. Additionally, the meeting highlighted the inclusion of projects aimed at environmental conservation, as well as the enhancement of parks and green spaces within the overall plan.
Expressing her resolve to address longstanding neglect in the maintenance and construction of roads, CM Maryam stressed the importance of ensuring cleanliness in all streets and markets, while also emphasizing the urgent need to rectify issues related to the sewerage system.

The meeting saw the participation of notable figures including Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Former Senator Parvez Rasheed, Provincial Ministers Bilal Yasin and Syed Ashiq Kirmani, MPA Sania Ashiq, as well as key officials such as the Principal Secretary to CM, Commissioner, and Deputy Commissioner of Lahore.
