Lahore: Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Umar Shaikh has given a deadline of October 31 to divisional officers for launching a ‘grand-scale crackdown’ against landgrabbers and apprehending those involved, according to a news source published on September 20.

The decision was made in a high-level meeting held under the CCPO, where the attendees mulled over the landgrabber mafia group operating in the city during August 2018 – August 2020.
Moreover, the meeting was also briefed about the Smart Lahore Police Division 2021. The attendees resolved that ‘the Lahore Police will achieve the performance efficiency of the New York Police by the next year’.

Furthermore, the meeting approved several measures to initiate the grand-scale crackdown against landgrabbers in Lahore. Shaikh issued directions for daily follow-up meetings to ensure efficient progress. He stressed on nabbing the land-grabbing mafia by utilising every available resource possible.
