Lahore: According to the World Crime Index, the city of Lahore is safer than London and Washington — with a crime rate of only 42 at the beginning of 2019, a news source reported. The rating for the city has improved since last year; with the previous crime rate of about 46.90, dropping to its current rate of 38.43.

On the crime index, established by a company called Numbeo, Lahore was ranked at number 174 only a few months ago, but has dropped to 201 due to a drastic decrease in crime rate. Back in 2014, Lahore was ranked at number 74, while Karachi was declared as one of the most dangerous places at number 6. However, both countries have managed to improve their ratings to 201 and 71 respectively, ever since.

On the World Crime Index, Lahore has been declared safer than many other big cities of the world, including London, Washington, Beijing, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Birmingham, Manchester, Delhi, Mumbai, Dhaka, Tehran, Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul, Jerusalem, and Rome.
Currently, the city of Caracas in Venezuela is occupying the number one spot as the most dangerous city in the world, while Abu Dhabi was ranked as the safest city of all, with a crime rate of only 11.
