Lahore: The Lahore Metropolitan Corporation is going to set up 25 ‘model bazaars’ for cart pushers in the city, a news source reported. The civic body has decided to complete its preparations for registering the cart owners within three days.

According to this new development, the Metropolitan Corporation will ensure that
- All carts have the same colour
- All carts have a registration number
- Cart owners also have a registration number
As per sources, the civic body plans to register 60,000 carts, and has also proposed to keep a minimum amount of the registration fee. It has also begun the process of identifying locations for the model bazaars in nine zones of the city.

The Metropolitan Corporation Administrator & Lahore Division Commissioner Asif Bilal Lodhi issued the orders in this regard, and they have been forwarded to the concerned officials. Meanwhile, the Municipal Officer (MO) Regulation Zubair Wattoo has instructed all Zonal Officers Regulations to complete the survey of the sites for the bazaars within three days. He has also asked for the submission of a report after the survey’s completion.
Lodhi will also brief a meeting discussing the identification of sites for the construction of the model bazaars soon.
