Karachi: In an effort to make Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) a profitable entity, the authority has decided to raise the water tariff by 9% — a news source reported.
Sindh Minister for Local Government Saeed Ghani said that all possible measures should be taken to turn profits for KWSB. He was speaking at a meeting of the governing body of the board.

He said that the price tariff may be raised, however, consideration should be given to how it will affect the industries. It was also discussed that the extent of losses incurred by industries if the tariff is raised should be considered and reciprocally, how KWSB will be affected if the tariff is not raised for industries. A report on the matter is to be submitted in the board’s governing body meeting on July 1, 2019.
