Karachi: The Supreme Court-mandated Water Commission has directed Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) to fix water metres, regulate connections, and provide water in Clifton and its surrounding areas in 2 weeks, a news source reported.
The focal person for water commission Asif Haider Shah told the commission that a new supply project is under the works for Clifton, new metres and valves have been installed at pumping stations, and some illegal water connections are being regulated.
Head of Water Commission, Justic Amir Hani Muslim told the focal person to fix the issue within 15 days, no matter what is done. He also instructed DHA and police, among others, to cooperate with KWSB.
KWSB Managing Director Khalid Sheikh told the commission that 5 water meters in the city are not working, to which the commission head replied that no further delay will be tolerated.
