Karachi: Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) has formed an online water tanker centre to facilitate the citizens of Karachi, according to a news report. Now, the public will be able to get a water tanker just on a phone call.
According to the details, KWSB’s Tanker and Hydrant Cell formed the online centre on the instructions of Managing Director (MD) Khalid Mahmood Shiekh. Now the citizens can call from 9 AM to 5 PM to get a water tanker delivered to their homes and they won’t have to stand in long lines. The following telephone numbers have been issued for the purpose: 99245152, 99245178, and 99240802.
To divide the tankers judiciously between different areas of the city, each area has been assigned a quota. In case an area’s quota is utilised for the day and a citizen calls for tanker from that area, they will be offered the commercial tanker. In case they refuse the offer, their name will be noted for the next day’s quota.
As soon as the tanker leaves the hydrant, the consumer will be informed the driver name and tanker number among other details.
