Karachi: The Supreme Court-mandated Judicial Commission on Water and Sanitation, Justice (retd) Amir Hani Muslim has directed Karachi Water and Sanitation Board (KWSB) to increase Defence Housing Authority’s (DHA) water quota by 1 million gallons per day (MGD), a news source reported. The commission was tackling the issue of water shortage in DHA.
The DHA officials told the commission that DHA gets around four to five MGD of water, which is not enough to meet the demand. As a result, the commission directed KWSB to increase the water supply. The commission also directed Clifton Cantonment Board (CCB) to resolve the water shortage issue in Clifton within two weeks.
