Karachi: The Karachi Water & Sewerage Board recently resumed its crackdown against defaulters during which it disconnected water and sewerage supplies, according to a new report shared on September 24.
The board is actively pursuing the operation and has already severed water connections in several apartment buildings, commercial areas, business complexes and individual houses. The campaign has been underway from the last three years. In order to make the crackdown effective, the board has engaged several of its sub departments working under different teams. These teams have been assigned specific areas to target the defaulters who haven’t been paying bills against the service board provides.

During the operation on Wednesday, the KWB teams severed water and sewerage connections of defaulters residing in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Scheme 33, PECHS Society, II Chandrigar Road, Liaqatabad, North Nazimabad, Malir, Saddar, Federal B Area, Korangi, Tariq Road and several other areas.
According to sources within KWB, residents/tenants of several commercial, residential and mixed-use buildings in the city have huge payments pending in terms of bills. In order to make the payment process easier for them, the board offers payment clearance in instalments.
