Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has issued Letters of Intent (LOIs) to EnerTech Holding for the implementation of renewable energy projects in the province to achieve sustainable urban growth, according to a story published in the leading newspaper on June 8.

As per the details, EnerTech Holding has signed 44 Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) of an accumulated worth of USD 8 billion with the KP government at the Dubai Expo 2020 involving the development and implementation of green hydrogen, food processing, urban development, and integrated tourism zones (ITZs).
Moreover, the Kuwaiti company will invest USD 250 million to set up two green hydrogen projects on the run-of-the-river hydel plants of Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organisation to produce green hydrogen and green ammonia. The proposed project sites include the 69MW Lawi hydropower project and the 84 MW Matiltan hydropower project.

Additionally, the company will provide USD 750 million for building a smart city in Khanpur and a satellite. Once the project is completed, it will generate economic opportunities and bring investment into the province.
