Peshawar: The Jashne Kumrat and Broghal Festival in Upper Dir is scheduled to begin from tomorrow (Saturday), a news source reported. As per the instructions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Tourism Atif Khan, the authorities concerned will arrange a musical night and fireworks display for the festival.

The minister gave the directions while chairing a high-level meeting on tourism in the province. He directed the relevant officials to complete all required arrangements for the festival. The meeting also reviewed preparations for the Broghal and Kalash Achao Festivals.
The tourism minister stated that the plan was to celebrate the Kumrat Festival in a befitting manner in order to send a message of peace to the world. The festival, which aims to highlight the importance of the local culture, will be presented for three days (August 24-26).
The senior minister revealed that Kumrat was one of the new tourist spots recently developed by the KP government. He added that apart from the provision of basic amenities, the authorities concerned would ensure the availability of additional facilities for the tourists.

The meeting also shed light on identifying new tourist zones, which were feasible for development, in the province. Additionally, the members discussed the construction of rest houses and availability of other facilities at these spots, along with the development of adventure tourism.
