The deputy speaker said that the road would connect remote areas of Balochistan with other developed parts of the country. He took to Twitter to say that the National Highway Authority (NHA) had already invited bids for the project that is to be developed as part of the uplift schemes being initiated under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Mr Suri went on to say that the dualisation of the Kuchlak-Zhob road would not only link different areas within Balochistan, but that it would also do the same for Dera Ismail Khan and the tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He further revealed that funds worth PKR 63 billion had been set aside for the project and that it was expected to reduce the travel time between Dera Ismail Khan and Quetta by eight hours — with the initiative forming part of the western CPEC route.
