Under the collaboration, Bank Alfalah will provide PKR 50 million to reconstruct two clusters of low-cost houses in villages that were devastated by the floods, comprising 70 homes each, at an estimated cost of PKR 350,000 per house. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Bank Alfalah President and CEO Atif Bajwa said that the donated amount will facilitate the rebuilding of infrastructure in the medium to long term, aiding the affected areas in returning to normalcy. He said that the collaboration has been part of the two-pronged approach, which includes rescue and relief, followed by rebuilding and rehabilitation under the ‘Reimagine: Build Back Better.’
