Islamabad: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved and referred key infrastructure projects aimed at improving road connectivity and tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
In its latest meeting, the CDWP referred the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Integrated Tourism Development Project (KITE) worth Rs27.3 billion and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Accessibility Project (KP-RAP) worth Rs112.8 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for final approval.

The KITE project, backed by World Bank funding, focuses on boosting tourism by developing roads, visitor facilities, and infrastructure to drive economic growth and employment in the region.
The KP-RAP project, also supported by the World Bank, aims to rehabilitate and upgrade roads and bridges across 23 districts, improving rural connectivity and access to markets, schools, and healthcare facilities while ensuring climate resilience and road safety.
With these projects moving forward, KP is set for a significant infrastructure upgrade that will enhance accessibility and economic opportunities across the province.
