Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) public universities reopened today (Monday) after a break of more than two and a half months — a news source reported. To this effect, the provincial Relief and Settlement Department had recently issued a notification informing the vice-chancellors, deans, heads of departments, and other administrative staff of all public universities to initiate attendance at their respective institutions from today onwards for the conduct of online class sessions.

The aforementioned educational institutes include University of Peshawar, Agriculture University Peshawar, University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar, and the Islamia College University Peshawar, among others. These varsities had been closed in March after the authorities announced the province-wide lockdown following the coronavirus pandemic.

The universities are expected to reopen under the standard operating procedures issued by the government — with all precautionary measures to be ensured at all times.
According to the information available, the University of Peshawar (UoP) had already developed a software to hold online classes. As a result, UoP students will now have easy access to their lessons and notes that will be made available on the university’s website.
